Morning Clouds Over Trees

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a new piece. Lately I’ve been making a bit of a pivot into acrylic painting after working mostly with oil pastels.

I’ve wanted to explore acrylics for a long time, and I finally decided it was time to slow down and learn the medium. I still miss the speed and freedom of oil pastels, but acrylics are teaching me something different

So far the biggest lesson has been patience. Slowing down enough to mix the right color. Paying attention to tone and hue. Letting the painting develop layer by layer instead of rushing to the finish.

It’s been a good reminder that sometimes the work has its own pace and the best thing you can do is learn to meet it there.
